Corolla beach cams and surf cams
- Corolla, Sailfish Street beach access — the Currituck County beach camera, run with the WebCOOS observing network. A live look straight down the Corolla beachfront, and the only Corolla camera that was actually working when we checked on September 4, 2026.
- Corolla — Corolla Light Resort OBX Surf Cam. Aimed straight at the surf a few miles south of the Carova ramp, but the player spins without ever starting — we left it running for over half a minute on September 4, 2026 and got no picture.
Duck and Kitty Hawk cameras
- Kitty Hawk — Twiddy & Company live OBX webcam — a 24/7 YouTube live stream, and the most reliable moving picture on the northern beaches. Twiddy is a Duck company, but the stream’s own description places the camera in Kitty Hawk. Confirmed live on September 4, 2026.

Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head and Roanoke Island
- Kill Devil Hills — Avalon Pier PierCam, looking down the pier at milepost 6.
- Nags Head — Jennette's Pier cam, the most reliable surf view on the northern beaches.
- Manteo — the Town of Manteo runs two live streams: the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse and the waterfront marina. Soundside, so useful for wind rather than surf.
Hatteras Island and Ocracoke
This is the weak spot, and it is worth knowing before you go looking. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse cam in Buxton is working. The SurfChex cameras that used to cover Avon, Hatteras Village and Ocracoke are all showing "cam temporarily offline" as of August 2026, so there is currently no working public beach cam south of Buxton. The one live view that still works down there is NCDOT’s pair of ferry dock cameras at Hatteras Inlet — traffic cams rather than surf cams, but they show you the light, the weather and how long the ferry line is. For Cape Point and the southern ramps you are better off checking the ORV permit and ramp status and the forecast rather than hunting for a live picture.
